Sorry Dude, I was in south Africa. the axle is a little bigger than 3". so a 3" u-bolt works. just have to stretch it open a little. then I made 2 U brackets for the frame mounts. I Put the whole thing on in less than an hour. I can take pics tonight and email them to you if you like, Let me know..

I got mine out of a wrecked Tahoe. I got it for $100 with brackets and I love it. I've had it on for about 2 years now and it definatley helps.

To answer your questio the hd frame is 2-3" taller than the 2500 one.

1500HD and 2500 Regular both are pretty much a halfton with 3/4 running gear and leaf springs and such..on a 1500 Frame
2500HD has taller frame

I'll support the need for a rear bar. After putting the hotchkis on and the 20's you feel like you are cutting into the road and not sliding off of it. Now I just need to get a more aggressive alignment and see if I can get rid of some of the push.
