Default If you ever pulled out a 4l60e get in here!

Alright so im getting ready to pull my 60e out of my Z71 here in the next week or so to have it built up a little.
Is there anything that I need to watch out for and do, or not do?
What about on the install?
Im going to be installing my yank tt300 also so what do I need to look out for here? How much ATF do I have to add to the converter before I install it?
If anyone has a thread with pictures and a write up about all this that would be awesome. I did search so sorry if I missed it.

Im also going to be adding a trans cooler. I dont know if it will be a tru cool or hayden, I dont know if that will matter on the install, but if someone could tell me how they installed theirs that would be helpful too.

try to get at least a quart in the new converter. the top transfer case bolts are a bitch, we had a small problem with getting the trans lines out of the side of the trans also but other than that its not bad at all . i installed a cooler on my car and at first i just bypassed the stock one but i felt like two was better than one and re ran it so i had both coolers in there. i think the bottom trans line is the supply so you would hook the cooler to there(I'm not 100% on that it was awhile ago when i hooked mine up)

i got a gallon of oil in my 80 converter lol.

The trans line unclip, dont unscrew the fittings, like i did the first time. ALso make sure to seat the converter all the way, ive messed that up before too.

have fun with those top bolts to the bell housing. it may be worth your time to take the intake off so you can get it from the top

deep 15mm, 3 foot of extension, a wobble joint with electrical tape on it, and sit indian style at the output shaft. Then its easy lol...

I have a body lift so I had it a little more easy. But yeah to get to the top bolts, use extensions and a universal joint.

Just jack the trans up till it touches the floorpan and get at all three top bolts from atop the motor with a ratcheting 15mm wrench, and no need to take the intake off or anything. I have done several trucks this way and it sure beats contorting yourself underneath with a bunch of extensions wobbling all over.

Thanks for the replies guys. How long does it take to pull it and install it, or at least how long did it take y'all?

I just removed mine today and it took me roughly an hour not breaking a sweat.
