Default im back... with problems

Hello guys
as i posted a while ago i was havig post 6.0 swap issues, truck wouldnt stop running,
i figured it out, i had a ground disconected, got it running good to go.
filled trans up and ran it through the gears, seamed fine.
Got about a mile down the road and stood on it, WOW it screams and then "pop" smoke everywhere
shut it down in nuetral coasted back into the shop put it on the lift one of the tranny lines on the tranny the top one to be more exact was out of its spot.fluid everywhere.
first off what would happen if i for whatever reason accidentally hooked these up backwards?
Ha this ever happened to someone else.

THANKS for your time
BLAKE

OK good info i had no idea that those clip were not to be re-used,

But can anyone shine some light on what could theoretically happen if the trans lines were hooked up backward, reverse whatever?

I've reused mine every time. No problems y et

If you hook them up backwards they just go through the radiator in the other direction. Can't see any harm in that.
I believe the top line should go to the top of the radiator and bottom to the bottom.

I would bypass the radiator all together if you have a separate trans cooler. a friend of mine had a problem with coolant getting into the trans when a small crack developed in his radiator on the trans cooler side.

I wouldn't. He lives in minnessota. that fluid would never get warm if he bypassed the radiator.

I do see your point tho.

southern California does not have winter...so yeah

the coolant ruined all the soft parts in his 80e. plus took a week to figure out what the hell happened.

well how about the fact that i coasted back after i seen i had oil pressure and knew it was the tranny i shut it down in nuetral, about three quarters of a mile from like 75 mph?

can this damage a tranny while it speaws out the fluid?

when i got back in the garge i fired it up imediatly put in gear to attempt to drive it on the lift i heard a friction noise, not much i shut it off and pushed it on to discover the tranny line off.
should i hook it back up and put fluid in it or is game over?

i dont take my truck far but you would be surprised at the heat and humidity we get there in MN, in the summer months when i use my truck.
