im back... with problems

You're probably fine. Those clips get re-used successfully all the time. Yours just wasn't "seated" all the way, so it came out. Fill it back up and run with it. Unless you were beating on it while it was leaking and low on fluid, you will be just fine. You are not the first person this has happened to.

I've seen in on 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L80E.......never did a trans need repaired. The typical driver noticed the problem immediately, **** their pants, stopped driving as soon as they could get off the road, then worried for days that they smoked the transmission. Every one of them was okay.

Put on a "happy face".

thanks for the re-assurance AK tried to getr the clip this afternoon but the dealer was closed.

I reused my clips every time. No issue to speak of. The line probably popped out due to not being seated. Has happened to friends of mine. Fill 'er up, and test drive.
