inner tie rod

Default inner tie rod

got a question, have to replace the pass side inner tie rod on my 2wd 02 rcsb, how do you hold the center link of the rack ? do you have to i heard that you could cause dammage to the gear on the inside if you dont ? got the parts and the tool just wandering if anyone has done this ? thaanks

do you have to hold onto the center link at all ?

When i replaced mine, i never had to hold the center link.. there is a hex made on to the inner tie rod right where it screws into the center link.. put a wrench on it and twister off.. i took it apart from the hub side first though.. undo the nut on the outer tie rod end and pop it oit of the hub and then unscrew it from the center link.
