Default Inner Tie Rod Ends

How hard is it to replace the inner tie rod ends on a 2wd 04 silverado? I had them replaced at 21K and now at 39K one is bad again. I saw a thread that said the Moog replacements might be a better choice than the factory ones. I have a 2/4 Mcgauphy kit and I wonder it has something to do with the tie rod failures or not. I have a budy at a chevy dealership that says the factory ones just suck and he doesn't think the drop spindle has anything to do with it.

Default Drop

My truck had 2K on it and I had to replace mine with the same drop. I bought the moog for both my trucks and replaced them. What a BIG difference.

Mine were replaced at 20K and now need it again at 36K. The dealer says my 2/4 has nothing to do with it. My '99 had a 2/4 Hotchkis and never had a problem with them.

I had a 99 silverado before my 2004. My 99 had a 3" chasis tech control arm and the inner tie rods were replaced at 85000 and I figured that was about normal. I guess the new ends are just crap. I have a friend that has a 2003 silverado that has had his replaced once and with about 30,000 miles he thinks one is bad again. Have any of you ever replaced your tie rod ends yourself? It looks like it would be fairly simple.
