installing tranny cooler, feed/return?
ok so im installing a 22000 GVW thinline permacool tranny cooler in series with radiator, the stainless hoses and on the passenger side, 2 of them one high and one low, the directions say to disconnect the return line and install the cooler before that one so i did the which ones hotter test and couldnt really feel a difference, on the 5.3l stock radiator, which stainless hose is the transmission feed line and return line? top or bottom?

thats weird because i would think the hot fluid cam in the top and gravity would pull it down to return in the bottom but i really have no idea so i dont doubt it, thanks twobit, i plan on getting on this install pretty soon, hopefully the hose they gave me will be enough.

The bottom is the feed and top is the return. The engineers did it this way because a counter-flow heat exchanger is more efficient than a parallel-flow heat exchanger.

did you package come with enough hose to go form radiator to cooler in front right behind the grill and back to the stock return line or did you have to buy more?

thanks for all the info, with a thinkine tranny cooler does anyone know if i need an extra quart of tranny oil to fill up the extra volume that the cooler adds? if so, what fluid do i need?
