I believe you mean a standard 2500 or 1500HD core

9.5 but has the larger tube and bearings like a GMT400 only its set up specifically for the GMT800 platform.

I just used a Hummer H2 axle. I actually gained power over the 10 bolt, combined with a 7" overall wider track width and 17x9" wheels. Plus it comes with an Eaton E-locker preinstalled

It's definitely not a hybrid 10 bolt, axle shafts, tubes and housing are definitely a size up. 14 bolt in front:
