issues with a 05 z71....
Hey guys I have a 2005 5.3 z71 crewcab .
My rearend has given out on me once and was replaced. But this morning it gave out again. The probelm is that I'm able to go reverse but when its engaged in drive it wont budge. The first time I opened up the rear end I took out the posi unit. Found out that the posi unit has springs that were snapped off and was previnting the truck from going forward. I got the springs replaced and it was working fine. So I knew that it wasn't my tranny and transfer. The truck was working fine for 3 days now with no problems. But I dont know what making the springs snapp off? I was under my truck and I noticed that it could be my transfer. Maybe the yoke has to much play? So when engaged in drive it transfer the weight causing it to break.
But what I heard is that chevy trucks has that ongoning problem. When driving you feel and hear a thump in the rear.
Any ideas guys? Or experince?
Thanks any help is appreicated.
