Default Just blew up my 4l60E, What to do now?

Hey guys, i just blew my tranny, and good to. All gears are like neutral, i think the main shaft broke. Anyway, my debate is that if i have to pull the tranny, might as well put in the 80E no sense putting back in what broke. IS it worth it to fully build an 80E at a local SO CAL shop if there are any good shops are here, or is there a company that already has a built 80E that ships to door. Help me figure out what to do. my truck only has like 37,000 miles on it, it sucks. Will the 80E fit right into my truck, anyone done this with experience any tips? Anything will help, all responses welcome, AND FAST!

buy one from FLT sponser----------->
Flt is considered the best of the best by many. Thats who will be building mine as soon a mine blows. You can get a built 60E or even better a 4l65e level 5. A 4l65e will bolt right up. A 4l80e will require some extra work. Others will post up on the 4l80e swap or you can do a search and that will tell you everything you need to know about it.

the 80e swap is a converison it requires a new crossmember and wiring harness with tune among others things

if i were you id just get a flt level 5 65e and you wont have to worry about it unless you go over 550rwhp

I was looking at FLT as i posted the thread, they are very good from what i hear. I am looking at that 65E level 5 and that's the tranny to get, no doubt. What torque converter would you guys recommend with that tranny, cause i am most likely going to HAVE to buy that tranny. Also, i have an extended cab and have a 2 piece drive shaft, and i want to get a 1 piece, any recommendations on a drive shaft place? I am possibly supercharging the truck in the next year, so this is the tranny to get.

on the stall get a FLT-spec PI-vigilante from FLT get whatever stall speed ay want but i hear the 3200-3400 is about the max for daily driveability but if you are getting a radix or other twin screw, with 2wd it will be a smoke show with much more than a 2600

on the driveshaft i dont know aobut swapping to a 1piece but denny's driveshafts are about the best. get 1350 ujoints

I agree with getting a FLT transmission. You can get a 4L65E level 5 tranny but I think you should save some money and just get a 4L60E level 4. As for the torque converter, contact FLT and ask them which one would be best for you.

Not me. I think he should get the level 5 just because if he ever want to add more power(which he will) The trans will be able to handle it.

If you have any idea in your head that you are going supercharged, i would at least get the 4l65e or even a 4l80e. The 80 is definetly stronger but both should be pretty much worry free. There is no sense in having to buy another tranny down the road, do it right the first time.

I am all for doing it right the first time, but $2,600 is a lot for a 65E. Although the level 4 60E isnt that much cheaper, so for a few hundred i would rather have the level 5.
