Default just broke my 4l60 can I ...

My dd is a 2000 silvy 4.8 4l60 I have a 99 5.3 4l60 with harness can I swap engine and Trans in one shot and use 4.8 ecm so I don't have to worry about vats?

if its stock just stick in the 5,3 and you'll never know the difference and don't worrie about vats and use the factory computer

So the 99 harness is the same , it will hook up?

yea they are the same.

why change the whole harness tho?

Id get the 4.8 pcm tuned for good measure at the least.

its more work to pull the whole harness out of the truck.... just unplug your harness from the engine and leave it in the truck

Thats what i was getting at..
i think theres 20 connections and the harness is folded out of the way.

the 5.3 /4l60 has the harness hooked up to it still laying on the rolling chassis of the 99 ecsb I parted out .... if you were to look at the pics in my build section my DD was hit and I can see some where wires once were pinched just would feel better to pull it all out one shot and drop in the 5.3 (which I will hopefully use less than a year until I finish rcsb frame)

If you have a complete set up and your other one might possibly have damage to the harness, then yes swap the whole thing complete. Pulling the core support will make it easier to slide the whole assembly in. It might start, might not do to VATS. If you put the original 4.8 ECU back in it will start but the Engine parameters are different so you should get it flashed to 5.3 specs.

have to swap out rad supports anyway so that will work....maybe throw in my e fans too if i can do it on a switch cant afford to ecm flashed right now
