The G80 actually takes a lot of abuse as long as you don't do a high speed one wheel peel and then have it lock up while doing it (say like a rev limiter banging donut or burnout with one tire spinning and get up in the rpms)
I have beat the **** out of g80's and had them break and stay together. I beat the **** out of my auburn with no issues and I put a auburn in a friends lifted avalanche that he off roads hard sometimes on 35's and it's lived over 10 years of neglect

That being said, the stock G80 in my Tahoe did put up with abuse for many years, some of those with the blower, without issue. But I didn't really beat on it.
Also, Yukon still going strong, but it's never been tracked or really beat on. I'm gun shy now with multiple transmission failures and broken spider gears
