I've had mine a few weeks, about 1000 miles. It's been a whole lot better. It was under warranty on mine, shop charged GM $149 parts and labor.

Make them replace it with that part # I told you. You under warranty, use it!
Mine was just out of warranty when I bought it. It is an '04 model. I could prolly just fix it myself, but I am not sure about messing with the steering column with an airbag equipped vehicle...unless you just pull the fuse and unhook the battery.

Yeah man, I know the feeling. Customer gripe at me all day over the same reason. And seriously I have to agree....we shoulden't have to pay for this but....we do.

It's not that bad, just make sure you tie up the Steering wheel with some bunjee's so the wheel won't free spin, because that will brak the Clockspring....then you're up shitcreek!

do you have any pics of this new Int shaft. I wanna see what it looks like, for header clearance issues. I had mine lubed a long time ago and the clunk never came back.

i had my replaced about 2 years ago, when GM had a shaft replacement and then switch to the grease and GM told customers they just have to lube the shafts and wait on the new design shaft.
