Kumho Ecsta STX 305/50-20's are excellente!
Just replaced my old Kumhos with some new ones. All I have to say is: Wow! I forgot how well these tires handle, because I've been driving very conservatively lately (due to the fact that I didn't have very much tread left). I got over 30,000 miles out of this set of four, probably due to the fact that I rotated them religiously every 5,000 miles.
The Kumhos are pretty damn sticky - probably not as good as the Nittos, or maybe even the Hankooks or the Toyos, but pretty damn close, I think. The cornering is superb, and the traction is excellent. They stayed in round the entire life of the set, and wore very evenly, except for when I got a bad camber adjustment at around 15,000 miles, which caused some outside wear on the left front.
The best part is the price. The Tire Rack has them on sale right now for $141 each + shipping ($78.00 for the set), which Discount Tire said they would match. When it came right down to it, Discount Tire ended up coming under the price. My out-the-door total would have been right around $630, but I decided to go for the tire/wheel match balancing, which aligns the best balance point on each wheel with the best balance point on each tire. This cost me another $48 and another hour of waiting, but I think this service is well worth it (thanks grippy )
These are great tires and the price right now is just icing on the cake. If anyone is looking for 305/50-20's, I highly recommend the Kumhos Ecsta STX's.
