Default L60 operation when cold ambient

Does a combination of cold ambient outside air and cold transmission fluid cause the PCM to space out the upshifts in easy driving under those conditions?

Under those conditions, my 99 5.3 L60 will delay the light throttle 2/3 upshift to 32/33 mph and the 3/4 shift to about 44/45. As soon as the engine gets to about 180, it shifts normally. Don't know about the transmission temperature because my new cluster has not arrived yet.

Yep, when it's colder out, and the engine temp is colder, the trans will shift differently, plus it won't go into lock-up until the engine coolant reaches a certain temp. You'll probably notice harsher shifts as the ambient temp decreases also.

Thanks, that was easy. Glad the guy with the LQ9 in his dining room would know.

Is Santa supposed to bring a rotating assy, cam and valvetrain, and heads to keep it company?

LOL, I wish! I've been a good boy too I'm lucky that Mrs. Claus lets the shortblock sleep in the dining room as it is
