Leaf spring problems!!!
I did my brake upgrade this weekend and while I was under there I decided to try and take out my overload spring... I unbolted the U-bolts on the axle and took off my traction bars and was looking at a stud coming out of the top of the spring pack that had a nut on it. I put the impact on it to break it loose and the stud was just turning in the spring and the nut wouldnt come off!!! I know a lot of people have done this but HOW!!! I couldnt figure it out... I was about to get the cut off wheel and do away with it but I didnt figure that would be the smartest thing to do...
-anyone else ran into this problem before?? I am sure someone has been successful with it...

yea what he said, you have to lift from
frame enough for your axle to drop. Then
support the axle with your jack. Then remove
u bolts and shocks. After holding the pack together with a c clamp or something, lower
your jack and hold the stud from the bottom
so it won't spin while unscrewing. Hope this
helps.

did it.... the truck was on the frame lift.. rearend was on the jack to hold the weight off it. the axle wouldnt come out... I guess I'll try it again this next weekend at the shop with a big hammer... LOL either that or the torch... that'll get it out.
