Leaf spring removal for better ride
Thinking about removing the bottom leaf spring (not the overload leaf) on my 1500HD to try and soften the ride. Does anyone know how much this will lower the truck? I'm just going to use a block to regain the lost height and it would be easier if I didn't have to guess which size. Thanks

if you ever haul anything or tow, its gonna sag down more than usual. i dont know about the hd's, but there arent that many leafs on the 1500 and cutting down one leaf probably cutting down a big chunk of the payload capacity.

I have a 2005 1500HD 4wd crew. I took out the overload and added airbags and rancho adjustable shocks. The ride isn't any better, just different. It kinda has that lowered mini truck feel in the back now. There isn't a whole lot of travel. The rear end will sag about an inch. I wouldn't do it again and am considering going back to stock.
I don't know what the feel would be like if you left the overload and removed the fourth leaf.
