The centerline of the carrier bearing is 45" from the face of the transmission crossmember and everything else falls in place from there. Luckily I had an ECSB to take measurements for comparison. From what I remember I had 2.5 degrees for the u-joints and 5.5 degrees at the pinion. The only rework I really had to make was rotating the Evap canister similar to how the ECSB.

The 2 piece shaft nets you 2 seperate shafts, that are both much shorter. They are (even in stock form) much safer to higher speeds.

Ok so you pulled the driveshaft from a half ton ecsb 2wd and it was the correct length for your ccsb 2wd? I need to do this swap in a bad way.My driveshaft in my ccsb will start roaring at 100 telling me to slow down. I wonder if I could use the shaft from a 2500 ecsb 2wd since I am 4l80e?

I believe the CCSB with the 5.8 bed uses the same length as the ECSB
BTW they did make an ECSB with a short 5.8 bed so make sure you get the right unit even though they are super rare.
