Default lets talk locking & limited slip rearends................G80 is toast

OK, heavy *** truck (5800-6000lbs) + lots of FI HP/TQ + Drag Racing = what recomendation for my new rearend?

You can use the Eaton 19689-010 for a 4.10. It is stringer than the G80, but not as strong as the Detroit. Still a good diff, and a lot quieter. If you are looking for transparent traction, that is the better choice. For all out strength, go Detroit.

Don't use a powertrax system they are not worht ****.

I was debating this purchase a while back and here was what I found out.

The Detroit is much stronger but is noisier and doesn't have the street manners of the Eaton. Great for going fast in a straight line.

The Eaton is strong, but not as strong as the Detroit, and has better street manners. It is also rebuildable.

Detroits are great for drag racing but a tad less forgiving on the street. Well worth the trade off IMHO. I would have put one in mine but they are still working on it for the 11.5 rear.

The torsen unit I put in works pretty sweet so far though. It feels so much better than the G80 and definitely is putting the power to both wheels. On street tires I gotta be careful because if you light the turbo in a turn it wants to swap ends pretty quick.

It flat *** hooks with the sticky shoes.....
