Default lets talk tires...

k so i am in need of some tires for the track. i have been looking around but just can not decide on what tire i would be interested in. have been looking at some BF G's drag radials, Nitto 555R's, some ET Streets and M & H DRs

any suggestions? comments? other tires?

i have never bought a set of DR's so any opinions would be great!

I was looking at some DRs before too, but knew the 4.8 could probably go with good street tires and still hook good. I went with some 255/55/16 Sumitomo HTRZs. Very sticky, wide, and hook great. They have a low tread wear rating as well, so they are pretty sticky tires. I have them on some stock aluminum chevy wheels. They were also priced good two, I bought two for the price of one drag radial. I run the Nitto 420s now on the street, and they hook great also. It is hard to spin them, unlike the goodyears, falkens, pirellis, etc that I have run in the past.

I've got 245/45 17 nitto nt555r's on 17x7.5 stock aluminum wheels, and they hook pretty good on the street with a 125 shot of nitrous. I have the same mods as your truck minus the tune. At the track I had some problems with wheel hop, or spin. It could have been the track though. For a street tire, the nitto's are pretty good. If you're serious about going to the track, I think slicks would be a better investment; depends on exactly what you want to do with them. By the way, how much did the blackbear tune help out your truck? I need to get a tune and I'm looking for advice. Thanks.

#1 Requirement - they have to be "round, black, and hold air"!

^^^ Typical response to the question, "What's the $99 special?"
