Default Looking for input on a Hurst or B&M short throw shifter

I have an '04 silverado with a 4.8 and 5 speed. Just wondering who in here has the hurst short throw shifter or B&M and if so, how do they like it? What don't you like about it? Any noise through the handle? Can I do a 2-3 shift faster and more accuratly with a hurst than the stock one? I can go fast but sometimes it'll buzz back at me. Any input appreciated.

I have one. I took it out and modified the stock one. You may find that the Hurst shifter is a little notchie , it is hard to tell which gear you are going to get into. Also it's not the shifter that makes it hard to shift,it's the design of the trans. itself. You will never be able to shift the 5spd. the way you want to. I'm just finishing up a 6spd. swap for the very same reason. You can modify your 5spd shifter for shorter throws by moving the pivot ball up about 3/8" and making a spacer to go under the mounting pad. The Hurst shifter is better than the stock one , just not perfect.

I have the hurst in my truck. Takes some time to get use to, but I think it was a good buy. You can also adjust the tension of the shifter with a screw driver and taking a spring out.
