Default Lowered 4WD guys

How much drop have those of you decranked on stock keys gotten? I'm looking to pull the block and do shackles and was wondering if I could get low enough decranking the stock keys...getting the front level with the rear. I'm at 36" front 38.25 rear. Also, anyone have the part # for the 2WD U-bolts?

Yeah, as kevin said, about 1 1/2" is all your gonna get from the t-bars. I used the 2" drop shackles and left the blocks. probably easier? but now I can do the blocks if I decide to go lower. My t-bars are all the way down, then cranked about 1/2 turn (up) just to preload the key. my front is about 3/4" lower than the rear. remember, You will need to get an alignment if you crank the t-bars.

I would just buy some spindles. The part# for the 2wd u bolts is 15002781. They are sold individually therefor you need 4 of that part#. They cost me $16.15 each.

You can get 2 inches by changing the torsion bar keys. The guy who did my front end alignment said I should not lower the truck by loosening the torsion keys,I lowered mine about 1 1/4 inch by loosening the torsion keys it seemed to cause a bad case of bumpsteer. The keys reclock the torsion bars and are only about $60.
I took the blocks out of the rear and used 2 inch drop shackles. I ended up using Firestone air overload springs. The overload springs give me some adjustment for pulling a heavy trailer, and I put just a little pressure in them which raises the back about 1/2 inch. Without the air bags you will hit the bumpstops hard on the small bumps in the road, this is using 1/2 inch thick bumpstops.

why in the hell would you want to LOWER a 4X4? Just seems stupid to me.

Why would you want to lift a 2wd? Different strokes for different folks. I only use my 4wd for in the ice and snow in the winter and launch at 10psi of boost on the pavement

why not lower a 4x4? looks the same as a 2wd, but you have the availability of 4x4 traction. sounds like a good deal to me.

I got somewhere between 2-3" in the front with Belltech lowering keys and a little de-cranking, and 4" in the rear by removing the lift blocks and installing Belltech 2" drop shackles. I still have the factory length shocks though. The truck actually rides fairly smooth with my winter wheels and tires (Toyo Open Country AT's w/ 275-70 16's), but slams a bit with my Gibbs 20's in the summer (285/50-20). (both set ups are about 31" tall)

I lowered with spindles and a little de-twist of the torsions. I did cut my bumpstops in half which improved the ride quality a bit.
