Default lowering shackle question

I put belltech 2" lowering shackles on today. they barely brought the rear down at all. Only shackles were installed, not hangers. I was looking for a subtle drop, nothing drastic that's why I went this route. Anyone else have this experience?

I think maybe an inch. I forgot to measure from the ground. I think I'll prolly put the stockers back on when I order my caltracks with the axle flipped. That should kill 2 birds with one stone.

Just had this same issue yesterday !'05 ccsb 4wd.....I had already pulled my rear 2" blocks & adjusted the front torsion bars to lower the front 1" to level.
Well it was not enuf so I ordered Belltec 2" drop shackles & 2" drop torsion keys......when I put on the 2" drop shackles on the back only came down 1/2 " on one side 1 1/4 " on the other side & for 3 hrs I went crazy tryin to figure out what changed ...it was level before & should have come down 2" rt ?
A fellow gearhead told me to go & play with the torsion bar bolts [with the drop in the back it changes the pressure on the torsion bars]...BAM after taking some pressure off of the bars it sat almost level on all 4 crnrs. Once I get the drop torsion keys in & relevel all should be good & I got to keep my overload springs for towing & my ride is still very good with Belltec Street Perf. shocks.

glad to hear you leveled out Wantsum410. My truck is 2wd so no torsion tomfoolery for me. I put hotchkis 2" drop coil springs up front which brought the front down nicely. The shackles are hardly noticeable.

When I did shackles it levelled it. Then I did spindles, and it gave me the nice factory rake just 2" lower.

Did you torque the bolts down while the suspension was hanging or after the truck was back on the ground?

You need to leave the bolts loose when you set it on the ground ,bounce on it good & tighten em up .I took mine for a ride & back then it settled .
