Question Lq9 and 4l80e. stall or no stall iwth this cam?

the engine is a 2004 LQ9 and teh tranny is a stock 4l80e. should i put a stall in while the engine is on the stand? shoudl i do any tranny mods? this is going in a 1985 c10 that will be for weekend duty and cruising.

cam specs are

@ .050 int. 220 exh 226
gross int .581 exh .584

on a 113 lobe seperation.

the stock converter will stall up to 2500-2600
You could spend another $700 for a 3000 stall . . .
plan on getting the TransGo HD2 shift kit, with the hardened plate. The 4L80e has a really tall 1st gear

I'm running a 224 230 581 591 -110, it's all stock.

unless you're wanting to race from light to light . . . then no stall is ok.

Shift kit is for less slipping, and direct clutch burn up. It also allows you to shift to any gear and hold it at any RPM, it also gets rid of the pulse lockup

220/226 113 LSA and 364 cubes...I'd go with something that stalls around 2800+, 3K+ being better...

a member since 04 and you don't know what a shift kit does? You need to stick around more if you can.

I'd definitely get a shift kit. They are cheap and well worth the cost. A trans cooler would also be a good investment if you run a stall (even if you don't). You can get a good one anywhere from 80-120 bucks.

Are there pics of that camaro on here somewhere?
