Default ls1 swap, whats trans fits my needs?

hey im doing a ls1 swap instead of a 6.0, but anyways the truck has 82k on it with a 4.8 in it now, well its going to be awhile before i get my ls1 back and ready to go in, so i want to go ahead and get a trans put in, the truck doesnt do in any towing, its a 03, and more or less just gets the hell beat out of it, so whats good to put in it? 4l80e? or just keep the 4l60e? or any other that could be put in?

what are the details on the LS1 and when are you going to put the LS1 in? The 4l60e wont last long btw, get a 4l80e or something built etc.

Like rgv said, a well built 4l60 will work fine for you.

I agree also on the 60e. No reason to go 80e unless you wana go big on the spray or run F/I.
