Default LT1 and LS1 Converter

Just wondering the difference between the LT1 and LS1 Torque converter? How to tell the difference. Is the bolt pattern different? Bought a used verter and call the manufactuer and i gave them the part number and they said it could be a LT1 or LS1. If its for an LS1 will it fit my 2006 Z-71. Thanks
