Default M6 in the SSR for 05

OK, they upgraded to a 6.0 and an M6 in the 40k truck that still won't beat a stock Lightning. WTF!!!!

Anybody know if it is the same M6 out of the car or what changes it might have....ratios etc...

Aren't the SSR's somewhere in the neighborhood of 5400 lbs? Because of all the convertible crap with reinforcing the frame and the pump systems for the retractable hardtop. I was told by the dealership that my 04 RCSB wih the 4.8 and 5 speed will blow away their 04 SSR. He said it's all show and no go.

It's listed as an M12 on Chevy's site, which is the Tremec T56. Went to www.gmpowertrain.com to check it out, and their T56 page isn't working?

I know it's slow and heavy. IMO, the SSR should never have been made. What I'm wondering is, how much different is this tranny than the T56

Yeah the SSR is a heavy beast. It weighs more than my truck and it's smaller. My Uncle went to training for repairing the retractable roof last year and he said that thing is a potential nightmare.

The '05 has the LS2. It's not the normal truck 6.0, but the aluminum LS2 6.0 with 390 HP. Donno if ya'll knew that. Still not where it needs to be in my opinion, but it'll definitely have more ***** than the '04's.
