I thought pin 42 was used for e-fans? Something doesn't sound right to me.

Yes you can put a switch on the signal wire and run the other end of the switch to a ground.

There's two pcm plugs, pin #42 on the other plug may be for the fans.

Because the computer controls the clutch with PWM, I would like to suggest that if you are able to do it manually with a switch, lockup might be violent.
