1 to 1 1/2 degrees of negative camber should'nt hurt tire wear and may even help your cornering.About 5 to 7 degrees of positive caster will help your streering response and about an 1/8" of toe-in will help you track straight at highway speeds.

-1.0+ camber "WILL" wear out your tires!! Especially in a truck. To track straight, you set the left front tire caster a few degrees more negative than than the right front tire. This doesn't mean the caster is set to a negative *.
This will allow for a slight drift to the right. This keeps the vehicle from wondering from side to side.
I've found that for majority of GM trucks and suv's that a "total" caster of -.07 to -1.1 will make them drive straight and eliminate the wondering side to side.

Yea, I've noticed that the specs call for more positive caster on the right...I thought that GM did that to band aid some sort of drifting issue.
