I thought 3rd was slipping too. But after years of spraying on it with the 50-100 shot youd think 3rd would be gone by now? I upped it to a 150 shot this weekend and it really flairs. It will flair for a few seconds and then wham it will stop and I will start gaing speed fast. On the 150 going into 3rd it pulls really hard, way harder than its ever pulled before after that little flair.

The Stall was used when I bought it and has always worked fine. But considering my weight, wind resistance, gearing/tire size I figured it was really straining the little converter at 3rd.

I have a video of it doing this from this past weekend when I ran a new 5.0 stang. You can here it so when I post it maybe yall can figure it out

It almost sounds like the tcc is locking up after that short flair but am commanding no lockup in 3rd at all

Not the converter. It's the 3/4 clutch tapping out. You added 50hp and probably 70lb/ft going from a 100 to a 150 shot. The weight of what you're trying to move down the road is what's got you screwed.

I've personally seen that converter off the shelf go into the 10's and 11's, you're not hurting it....

glad you started this thread, I was also wondering how much power they could take.
I am looking at spraying a 100 to start then up to 150 in my truck and was wondering how the converter would hold up.

Yeah them cars are quick. 6speed manual with exhaust moved out real well.
