mid 90's axle question

Default mid 90's axle question

anyone know what the 5 bolt pattern these things had was???

also looking for a flange to flange with and the axle housing flange bolt pattern and spacing (i assume 4 bolt axle housing??)

did most of these trucks get the 8.5" rearend?

i'm looking for this info for my s-10 project (prerunner)

The rear end in my 78 came out of a 87 truck its a 8.5 10 bolt it has the 5x5 bolt pattern, but i think your S-10 has the 4x3/4 pattern i believe you can swap in a F-Body rear end directly

Yeah, 5x5 is the BP for mid 90s 2WD FS trucks. The S-10s have the 5x4.75 BP. If you want a 8.5" S-10 axle you have 3 choices, all out of 2nd gen trucks... one out of a 2WD 4.3/5 sp. truck (optional), a 4WD Blazer/Jimmy (optional), or out of a ZR2 (standard). The reg. 4WD axle is about 3 inches wider than the 2WD, and the ZR2 axle is about 4 iches wider than the reg. 4WD axle. If you're doing a prerunner, the ZR2 axle sounds like it would be a good choice, but I'm not real knowledgable on that prerunner stuff.

yeah that zr2 axle would be great for pre runnin
