Monotube or twin tube shocks?
Hey guys,
I have a 2007 Silverado crew cab classic with 175000 miles, I just put some 275/70r17 BFG tako2 tires and aired them at 40psi front 35 rear (helped the beam wobble out alot) but I have the stock from the factory blue shocks (Tenneco?) And the ride is very bouncy and unstable, Even before these new tires it was bouncy and at high speed the truck jumps up and down. I was looking at shocks and saw Monroe reflex as a good replacement but I don't know wether to get mono or twin tube, the reflex come as both and the sensatrac is twin but people say the sensatrac is just an older design so only go with reflex, I want a nice cushioned yet firm and controlled feeling ride.
Another thing is I have a 3 inch lift for the truck I plan on putting in later and I can get extenders for the front shock but on the rear should I go ahead and get 4wd shocks? They are quite a few inches longer and should work great with the lift but I don't know how long it'll be before I'm able to put it on so should I be good with the extra length on the stock height?
Does anyone maybe have a different suggestion for a different brand of shock?
Thanks!
