My 4l60e fell apart tonight.
Opened the cut-outs, got'r rollin, stomped it and off I went.
With the 4:56 gears low doesn't last long and when it hit second it spun the tires a couple times and then it was OVER.
It won't pull it self forward at all and won't even roll backwards. We couldn't get it to roll off the truck without taking the driveshaft down.
So..... here I go looking for a transmission. I talked to FLT last Friday and they're are behind so I'll have to look elsewhere.
I still don't know what to get either. I'm probably making about 600hp at the fw and I've seen ads that say they make 60e's that will handle that load.
Any words of wisdom? Any suggestions who to order it from?
Thanks, Jim

Get an 80e with shift kit and call it a day, with the power and tourque you putting down you will destroy 60e's real quick.
i would definatly look into it, i know of many guys on this site that went through multiple 60e's with the ole radix or large turbo setups, and only a few have messed up 80e's such as denali04 but he was twin turbo

Sorry to hear about your issue. We are booked for about 4 weeks currently and I know that is a long time for some to wait. I will be honest that it is pretty much the normal waiting time in our shop year round. Some might tell you to go else where and others will tell you that it is worth the wait. Good luck in which ever way you decide to go. If you reconsider please give us a call. Thanks for your time. Vince

I have a friend who swears by his Coan, but it's a 400.
Anybody had any experience with Coan's 60e's?
I just hate to cut up the cross member etc, and I don't have the capacity to do the job. I'll be hiring it done and while the trans shop that will be doing the job is very good and are friends of mine, I know the time will add up to $$$$$$, and the 60e will just bolt in and it's done.
