Default Is my 4l60E tranny core worth anything?

alright so i have a $150 core charge with the junkyard i got my new tranny from and i was wondering if i can get any more then $150 for it. It has no 2nd gear and no 4th and 3rd barely works. I know it would have to be rebuilt. I just want to know if these are worth anything to anybody? I was talking to an F-Body guy at a bar and he told me he would give $250 for it but i lost his number . Why is worth anything to him? Btw it's an 02 4l60E with 69,xxx. Please let me know asap my dad want it out of the yard. Thanks in advance.

Is the new transmission from the junkyard a new transmission or just a pulled out tranny from another vehicle?

I would think it would be worth the $150, you could always have it rebuilt or rebuild it yourself. I have paid $100 for a 4L80E case, I am sure you can get more $150 if you try to sell it.

I got the tranny used from a junkyard. The one i'm trying to sell is the one out of my 2002 silverado. When i bought the used one from them i had to give them an extra $150 for a core charge which i will get back if i return my old one. If i could get more then $150 for it that would be better to help recoupe some of the money i spent.

I asked one of the tranny shops in my area if my 60e trans was worth anything. The guy just pointed to a pile of 60e's and said not to us. lol
I gave mine away.

Let them take it and get your $150 back. I had 4L60-E fully built that just needed clutches. I hated that thing so badly I GAVE it to the first person who offered to come and get it. If someone on PT needed a 4L60-E core they could probably get one from another member for nothing more than the price of shipping due to the unwanted stacks of these sitting in our garages all across North America...

I got $450 for mine, but it was fully operational when I swapped it out. I would think that one that WASN'T working would go for considerably less.

Damn id of taken the $150 core charge off your hands for mine.... Obviously if he bought a rebuild kit for it he could sell it for at least $1500...but more likely closer to $2500. They aren't cheap if they are rebuilt with zero miles on them. Master rebuild kit is probably $250-300...so $500 in plus his labor of putting clutches in it and $2000 profit....not a bad haul if you know what you're doing
