By looking at the first pictures in the thread the pieces appear to be rollers and pinion gears that are chewed up. The pictures with the flat pieces I think are from the bearing in the OD planet. I cold be wrong but what do I know. As you said KY you will see it when it comes apart. Vince

^^^ nailed it. After months I'm finally tearing into the trans. Will eventually rebuild it. I'll have some pictures up as soon as the battery to my new camera charges up.

Thrust bearing between the overdrive carrier assy and forward clutch assy failed. I probably got it mispositioned when installed the shift kit doing the pump mods.



At minimum going to need a new overdrive planetary set. The needle bearings got into the gears and chewed them up.





I'll need a forward clutch hub. Took some teeth out in it.


Ugly but maybe a testament to the 80e strength. The tranny was still functioning mostly. Really no obvious anything going on.
