My experience with Moser Engineering...

Why in the world would you stop at the salesman level? If it were my $4000 purpose built part I wouldn't give up until I talked directly to someone with the last name "Moser" even if I intended to resell the part as soon as I got it.

bansheerider44 Thank you for taking the time to post up about your experience with Moser.
I have tried to tell people for a long time about Moser's customer service or lack there of but threads like this should really show people. If they still buy into to it then its there own fault.
For a recent project I went to Dutchmen for axles. And the service I received was almost just as bad. Now I don't mind spending money when people are up front with me but when there are hidden cost and you cant stick to your estimate Its just bad business practice. It's the business's responsibility to notify the customer. I verbally agreed to build to sets of custom axles but when I got the bill and it was nearly $200 more then the verbal quote and I didn't even have the product yet I wasn't very happy. Needless to say I am also at fault for not getting a written quote that I could hold them to.
Keep us posted on what you replace it with.
The problem with the factory housings is that the Face were the pumpkin bolts up will deflect and cause excessive spline wear with out additional internal modifications. Personally with the time it takes to modify the stock housings by re- tubing it and adding internal gussets its easier to buy something like the Bare strange fabricated housing and build something off of that.
I used the H1112 for my race car and got it with the back cap loose. I always get the tubing locally and TIG weld it in for a cleaner look. I then made a sheet metal back cap for it. I also used MARK WILLIAMS for the axles and the assembled 3rd member. The strange 3rd member in the pictures is just for mock up so I can roll it around.
