Default N20 Converter Question

Yes I've searched...a lot. I've been looking at converters. I called Precision Industries, they recommend a Vig 3200rpm Multi-disk since I'm running N20. I thought OK...until they mentioned the $930 price tag. I look around on here and most of the F.I. guys are running regular 2600-2800 stalls whether yank or PI, a few N20 guys running regular Yank SS or VIG 3000-3600 stalls which go for $700~ also. I was really hoping to get a Vig 3200 single disk for $700~ or a Yank SS3200, both are the same price. My question is how imperative is it that I get a triple disk converter? There aren't any locals around here racing pick-up trucks outside of stock-ish Lightnings & BBC S10's so I'm resorting to the internet.

Truck is raced every once in a while, might use 5 bottles a year, and doesn't tow. It's on a 100 shot so I don't think it needs a dedicated N20 converter, but the guy at PI thinks so.

03 Reg cab step side 5.3 2wd with 3.73's, OEM 16's w/ 255/70's. Thanks for any help. I'll try to call Yank when I get some time. It's not that big of a deal, I just really don't feel like dropping a grand on a converter, plus money for the other random **** for the install like ATF, fast food, beer, etc.

The triple dics prolly means is a smaller Diameter converter.. so its got the triple lockup in it to off set the small size.. Make sense?

I rode in Silvermodos ECSB with a SS3600 and it was nice.. My buddy just put one in a TransAm and its not all that loose for a DD, but it flashes hard..

Ill tell you this, you get what you pay for in a Stall.. I tried to go the cheap route through PTC and it ended up costing me a couple transmissions and a whole year of fighting lock up issues, pumps, and you can imagine..

Definitely..the minimum I'm going with on stall is a Yank SS3200 or VIG3200, both $700+ converters, but both the single disk and the triple disk VIGs are 9.5".
