Need advise on a rear end swap...tbss?
I have a 06 ccsb with a 408 with a 200 shot and i dont think my 10 bolt will last long. I have not sprayed it yet, but it does not like it just being all motor. I was wondering it anyone has done a 14 bolt swap from a tbss ? I am assuming it will be a little bit narrower which is a good thing so i can squeeze a little more rubber under the bed. I have looked through the posts and i cant find anything on it. Let me know what yall think.

The TBSS 14 bolt is much shorter. IIRC It's like nearly 4-5 inches per side shorther I believe its around 60 inches WMS-WMS... It also has a ton of brackets that are specific to the TBSS susspension. If you want shorter housing use a OBS 2WD it measure 64.5 WMS-WMS as opposed to the factory 68.5 WMS-WMS all you need is some leaf spring pads for around $30 you can space the brakes out with spacers and longer bolts or you can get more creative.
With the weight of a CC you would better served with The thicker axles, bigger bearings, and thicker housing tubes.
This thread documents the differences between OBS and NBS 14 bolt's and has links to several build threads for ideas.

I just put my 2wd silverado SS 6 lug 14 bolt in a couple of weeks ago. It was a direct swap, besides pulling the axles to switch my disc brakes in. It only took me and my buddy 1 1/2-2 hours, counting pulling axles on both rear ends to switch brakes.

I think the SS swap will be the way to go. I have drum brakes on the back of mine so I shouldn't have to swap anything really. I am about to do a 4L80 with a 4000 stall then the rear end. The tranny is slipping now so that has to go first.

Fwiw there wasn't any problems with mine I just found a good deal on on so I just did it. When I opened my 10 bolt up the only thing we could see was a lot of stuff on the drain plug magnet, but it has had 15xxx pretty hard miles of 500+whp with a g80, and probably 1500 of that was with boost turned up so it was 600+whp.
