Default Got help...THANKS GUYS!!!

I just installed a transgo hd2 shift kit and now my truck won't go into gear. The linkage moves with the shifter. I am almost positive that all of the check ***** are in place. When I pulled the VB, I pulled it out flat and level. I checked the photo of where the ***** where supposed to be and they were there. I went ahead and put some tranny assembly lube on them to keep them in place. I didn't use any of the spacers at the 2nd accumulator piston or any with the servos. I installed the servos last night and the truck drove fine. Now after the shift kit install...it goes no where. I was very diligent about putting the right bolts back in the right spot just like the drawing indicated.

The only thing during the install that I didn't like was that I had to reuse the old filter. The new filter didn't seem to fit. The little gasket that goes up into the tranny was a PITA to get in to. Could something as simple as the filter cause this?

I doubt the filter is the problem. How was the install of the valve body? It's critical that the gaskets and seperator plate line up precisely, otherwise some of the fluid passages could be blocked. Also, make sure the boost valve is properly installed.

Kenny,
Let me know as soon as you try out what was suggested.
hopefully this will pinpoint the problem and we can go from there to figure out how to fix it.

I followed the instructions on how to line up the gaskets and I even put some tranny fluid on them to keep them in place. Everything seemed fine during and after the install except for the filter. I think I fugged up the seal that goes into the tranny for the filter. Per Daniels suggestion, I put 4 more qts of fluid in it this morning and it moved forward in all gears. It was very sluggish and took some gas to get it to move, but it moved.

Thanks for the help guys

If the seal is messed up then it could be sucking air and may cause your problem. I've heard people complain that it takes a lot of throttle to get it to move when the boost valve isn't properly installed also.

It should be a simple fix, let us know how it comes out

How else can you install it? It just slides right in and the snap ring holds it. Did the guys that installed it wrong say what they did? I can pull it out and put it back in, but I don't see what that would help if I am going to put it back the same way.

From the bottom to the top...snap ring, boost valve, insert thing with aluminum spacer, small orange spring, bigger orange spring aroung the small one and then the other shaft part. Is that the right order?

Thanks again guys

yes that's correct. It seems like there were a couple of things that it could have hung up on when installing that tower of springs parts.

Well I am leaving work early...can't stand my chit sitting there broken. I am going to get another filter and take my time installing the seal. I am also going to check the manual valve linkage. I don't want to drop the VB at this time since I am pretty sure that it's the filter seal. Anything else I should/could check without dropping the VB?
