Need HELP with 4l80e conversion
HELPDoes any one have any info/ pics of a 4l80e conversion. I am in the process and hit a road block. I have purchased the crossmember and harness form speed engineering. The crossmember came with no holes for the trans mount. When I installed the crossmember it hits the back or the pan.
I have not attempted anything else as I am now on hold.
If anyone has info it would be grealy appriciated.
Also, does the extra harness go to the speed sensor at the front of the trans by the converter or the back by the tail shaft?

i'd just modify your stock one if i were you. I bought the speed engineering crossmember too and didn't use it. All that needs to be done is gring off the mount and flip it around.

Is anybody calling speed engineering and complaining about the cross member? I just flipped mine, but I'd be pissed if I ordered that thing and it came without any means to make it work right out of the box. It's not like all of these trucks are different.

The cross members are different..... Some time in 2000 or 2001 the stoped bolting them to the bottum of the frame rail and started bolting them on the inside. My truck was the first one with the bottom mount speed did. I had to drill the holes and shimm the trans up so the braket would not hit the pan.

New problem. The pins on the harness say red. I have no red just green and blue connections to the pcm. When did this change? Which one do I use? Are the numbers the same even if thecolors are different?
