Default Need Help , G80 ???

Hey guys, i was taking off from a stop and gave the throttle a quick stab and.. BANG! i thought , oh **** and quickly pulled over thinking a u joint broke. but there was nothing hanging or leaking. Then came home and got in the grass and gave it a little gas and it wont even go , just spins, had to put it in 4x4 to move! IS MY G80 HISTORY? what should i replace it with? Thanks guys. -TIM

Replace it with an Eaton LSD unless you have big plans in the near future (and then do a 14 bolt).

Good Ridance if it is! Your going to be so much happier with a Eaton or comparable. My buddy CRAZYCUTER4.8 used to work at a Chevy dealership as a service manager so he could replace things that broke easily. He went through 3 G80 when his boss told him thats it! For some odd reason it took him 3 trannies to put a end to replacing them! HEHE!

I had an eaton and it went boom. Many here are happy with them and so was I until it went out and took out the rest of my gears.

I went with the Yukon brand of posi. I wish I had side by side pics, but the Yukon actually looks more beefier. Very similar design. Yukon has more of an enclosed case than the eaton. I was told they are very similar inside.

Havent drove the truck with the Yukon posi, so no comment as far as driveability.
