You could pull the overload spring. Some say it hurts and others say you cant even feel it.
I've heard tell they make a 3" drop shackle for 2500's? and that it will work on our trucks but never confirmed that.
You could do the hangers too and just use the 1" drop on your shackle for a total of 3"....

arent hangers a pain in the *** to install? Putting the shackles on was aggravating enough cause you couldnt get access to a bolt because it's a stepside. It would have been simple on a fleetside bed... How hard is it to remove the overload spring?

Hangers can be a pain in the ***. Pull the bed and get to work with a sharp air chisel, it will pop those rivets right off there. Stylintrucks.com has downloadable instructions on belltech kits...
As for the overload, Not hard. If I recall when I had mine all apart, its basically just Undoing the big u-bolts and pulling it out. Theres a bolt in there that holds em from slipping out...Its been a while since I did my drop so I'd have to go out there and look at it. But once you look at it its pretty self-explanatory.
While ur looking at it measure the overload....I think its good for 3/4" to 1" drop......

I pulled the overload in my fullsize and hated it... it leveled the truck perfectly but it bottomed out like a SOB... I put an S-10 overload in it and it firmed it up perfectly and didnt throw the back all the way up... it wasnt really noticeable. I just put the 3" shackles on my stepside and I just cut the pinch weld on the bottom of the bed and folded it over and pulled the bolt. wasnt a big deal. I think TXsilverado has or had the 3" shackles on his truck too.

Yeah that's what i had to do but i didnt have anything to cut it with so i had a shop cut it, but i still had to bang on it with a hammer in some spots to get that bolt out... Who makes the 3" shackles you got? I havent seen any, just hanger and shackle kits for a 3" drop...

ok, nevermind i just looked under the truck and i dont see how a 3 inch drop shackle would even work cause there's no more room for a larger shackle than the 2" drop one i have in there. I guess that's why you gotta do hangers when you go more than 2" drop in the rear...
