Need help upgrading brakes. 1999 RCSB

Find a gravel road or grass field. Do alot of hard braking to get the ABS to kick in..

On mine i just did the normal two person brake bleeding. Start at the passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front. Vola.
Then go do alot of brake checks.

i can definatly do that haha..

can i bleed it with EFI live scan tool? I have a cable and everything, just not sure if I can get to that feature?

I put a 14 bolt in mine that had drums, so I swapped my disc onto it. You have to pull the axles out to get the mounting brackets off. It took me and a buddy about 1.5-2 hours to swap rear ends, including swapping out the brakes.

you were able to just swap brackets from the 10 bolt on to the 14 bolt and use the brakes that were on the 10?

idk if it matters but my rear end is older, from an mid 90s OBS, but its still a 14 bolt SF 6 lug

I don't know about the older ones. Mine was from a 2wd SS truck. Search here, I remember seeing a couple guys that have done what you are.

The OBS rear ends require a spacer or a new mounting bracket to be made.

any word on running the 05+ calipers? I know they will bolt into stock position and work with stock discs..Will they clear a 16" rim? I need new calipers so i figure i would rather upgrade if i can

I believe the 05 up front disc and calipers require 17 inch wheels.

kind of what I was thinking..im sure with nice pads and discs it will stop just fine..

still trying to decide if I wanna go through the work to put the 14 bolt in or just throw a tru trac in the 10 bolt. i didnt realize i would have to move perches and everything else..thats not a problem but more work than i wanna do right now..plus i have to find a flip kit that would work with that rear end.i blew 2 10 bolts up in my tahoe and now put a tru trac in it and havent had a problem..thats a 6.0 with 24s and 6200 lbs..i would probably be alright in a rcsb with 20s and a tru trac..for now anyway
