Default Need some opinions

A couple days ago, I was driving home and a GIANT raccoon ran out in front of me....Hit it going about 65 with the passenger front tire. Since then, it seems like that wheel has some "uncontrolled" bounce to it.....definitly not my imagination, wheel weights are there and none missing. Could I have blown that shock? The front shocks are only about a month old, and I see no leaking from the affected side. Any help would be great, I dont know how to test to see if the shock is blown or what else to do! Thanks, Ron

LOL, thats what I told myself....but i swear theres a difference with that wheel now. I even checked to make sure the sway bar end links werent busted. When I hit it, it was like running over a concrete block at 65 mph, BIG bump...lol.

What kind of wheels do you have? If you have small side wall tires then Maybe theres a Slim, "Veryslim" Chance you bent a rim. I'm sure theres some sort of ratio. 15lb coon x 65mph = ? 1 hellofa hit. it could possibly have changed your toe. you could check it with a tape measure some string and 4 lawn chairs. Grab some beers and go check it....

They are the stock wheels, no bling It drives perfectly unless I hit a small bump like a manhole cover or something, and then I can feel that tire bouncing more than in the past....I dont get it. I guess I will swap the drivers and passenger shocks and see if the problem moves.

Usually to test shocks you bounce the truck and if it bounces more than 2 times you need new shocks. Right now I dont have shocks up front because I am doing a 4/6 drop and if I bounce the truck it bounces ~4-5 times.

I kinda doubt it's the shock though, probably an alignment issue.

you might have created a seperation in the tire when you hit it take your truck in For a Rotate and Balance....... I doubt the wheel is bent but i would have them checked for balance and seperation..

Run over another big racoon and see if i fixes the problem, if not try running over a cat, at least it will make you feel better.

Only works if you hit it with the other tire.

LOL, if I have to buy a new shock because of this, I'm going to look for a horse to hit. Thanks to all, even the comedians! Ron
