Default Need some opinions fellas....

Ground Force Performance (www.groundforce.com) offers a lowering kit for the Sierra Denali. It includes torsion bar keys (not sure what those exactly are) and a whole new different rear leaf spring setup. It lowers the truck 2 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear.

OR

McGaughy offeres the 2 inch drop AWD spindles for the front, and I would think I could use some Silverado SS rear shackles to get the rear down some, maybe take the lowering blocks out also.

My question is which route would you guys take? I am leaning towards the lowering spindle way due to the suspension geometry not changing in the front and such. If I take the blocks out of the rear suspension, can I still use Silverado SS rear shackles?

Most defenitely go with the spindle if possible . I am not sure how to do the rear for you but for the front .............again............. go with the spindle.

I'm using a McGaughy's 2/3 deluxe drop kit.The ride is nearly as good as stock.I had to cut the threads under the balljoint so my 17" wheels would fit,but overall I'm pleased with the kit.

Also, will I run into any pinion issues with the rear end being lowered?

Mcguaghys for sure. That would be your best bet. You should be fine with pinion with only 4 inch in the back. They probably provide spacers or shims with the kit. I would stay away from torsion keys. I put them on a 04 tahoe, and the alignment is next to impossible to correct. Spindles are by far the superior choice. There is a gp on mcguaghys goin on right now. PM me if you need details.

Is your Denali AWD? I don't think you can go with spindles, that's why the torsion bar keys are included. I had a '99 ECSB Silverado that I originally lowered with the Ground Force kit that included 2" lowered springs for the front. The problem I had was there is not enough adjustment for the alignment and that caused the front tires to wear on the outsides. I later went with the Belltech spindles - bad move! I lost the ability to make sharp turns and if I was turning and hit a bump or went up a drive approach, there was a hellacious scraping / grinding sound. That turned out to be the brake calipers grinding against the upper control arms. I haven't heard anything bad about the dropped A-arms.

I hope this helps you guys out there.

The mcgaughys spindles will not cause those problems, and they will work with AWD trucks. The spindles use stock geometry which keeps the wheels in the stock location, where the belltech spindles push them out slightly. www.mcgaughys.com

check them out. they have plenty for awd trucks.
