Default Need some quick info

Gonna swap torque converter tomorrow. Got a friend who's a mechanic at a dealership and gonna swap it there. I have the pacesetter LT's. Can you take off the starter without taking off the header and will the trans drop without taking off the header? I put on my own headers but I'm embarassed since I can't answer these ?'s myself.
Thanks guys.

You should be able to push the starter out of the way and you may have to take the you pipe off but not the headers..

I would think that you can remove the starter bolts and slide the it out of the way. Then just use extensions and a swivel socket to get at the TC bolts. Make sure to disconnect the battery first! HTH Vince

You should be able to depending on the collector design of the header. I just did a trans/ verter swap and just had to remove the Y, but not the header. I just unbolted the starter and fished it above the header. Definitely disconnect the battery.

The collectors are just I.d o.d. The y pipe just slips over the header collector and clamps. Anyone else just done a converter swap on a nnbs two wheel drive truck with LT's? Thanks to you guys who replied.

You wont have to remove them, I noticed this when I did my lt's and ory this weekend. On a side note, wanna come to prescott on the 27th of may? I think we should line em up!! You added the converter and I have added my lt's and ory.
