With 275 50 17 I would have to spin it to 6000 rpm to hit 120 ish...

Edit. I typed 275 40 17, with that tire I would have too spin up to 6500 rpm..
So I guess 275 50 17 will work but I'd still rather have a taller tire. I would realy like to not go over 5500ish rpm....

sorry i forgot his redline is 6500.

his 60 foots are 1.5s and launch with the 150 shot off the line. his tranny gernaded on the 200 shot but his 1/8 mile time was 2/10s faster so it was a 10 second pass for sure. We are now looking into a powerglide for it because team that up with a big stall and a transbrake its the ticket. also guys that went from a turbo400 to a powerglide usually drop et anyway. he has a gear vendors overdrive unit that we will be bolting up also.

i know you prob dont want to do this but have you looked into the 15 inch mt drag radials. by far this is one of the best tires out there. they have a 325 50 15 that is sweet also.

on the trailblazer ss he had the m&H racemasters with 275 50 17 and launched it after the 60 foot mark with the nitrous because tires couldnt hold it and ran a 11.8@117 but bad 60 foot time on a 125 shot.

he then just changed to the 275 40 17 and i jetted it to a 150 shot and told him to lauch with nitrous off the line. 1.5 60 foot time and thing just pulled. 11.4@121. he said 2nd to 3rd shift it hung up a little which he adjusted with hp tuners. i installed his mt et streets and honeslty they are the best stickin tire around. much better than nitto or bfg.

Thanks for the good info, one question. Will 15 inch rims fit front and rear disc brakes?

I just bought some M&H 275/50 R17 Drag Radials. They are 28.00" diameter. Haven't run them yet but they seem really nice.

Rear only? I just want to make double sure. fyi, the rears on my truck are disc, not drum like the 05's. I know 15" will fit the drum, but I don't think I've seen 15" with disc.

bluecajun5.3, thanks for the info, I'll have to check out screams set-up.

Looking for 1.5 60' s dreaming of something better......

James, Did you buy 4? or just 2? let me know how that work...

Search for a post by joshluther, he got 15's to fit by grinding down the rear calipers.
