I bought a 4l60e from ebay for @1600 rated 750hp 3 year warranty, that was last year. its been down for 2 months now with no 4th gear once its warmed up. shop that sold it to me is no longer in operation. I talked to a local guy that knows this trans in and out. he told me he gets customers like me all the time with the same story and unfortunately in most cases these customers have a nice expensive core for him to rebuild correctly. he then told me how these trans are budget built and how the usually fail.

im calling him today to check his schedule but I should know how badly I got screwed in a week or so I suspect when he has to tear it down and rebuild.
