Default New built tranny and warranty?

Hey guys I am thinking about a FLP tranmission. I just had a supposily "built" transmission and the tail housing on it basically broke off. I am wondering if a FLP transmission or any other manufacters would cover something like this under their 6 month warranty? If so, who so I can be looking at for this kind of warranty if there is such a place?

Did they rebuild your transmission or did you purchase a tranny from them? If you buy a tranny outright from a company and that happens then it is covered in the warranty, but the company might try to get out of it. If they rebuild your tranny then no it would not be covered since they did not replace it.

From what I understand it was replaced with a built transmission. It was $2200 installed. It was a different bell housing, etc. So I assume it was a totally different transmission. Anybody else have an opinion about this?

I would have to agree with the previous posts...if you bught the whole thing, I would expect them to warranty it. If they just rebuild it, I'm guessing they won't. I know Chuck (FLT) will work with you on just about anything that could be attributed to his rebuild. However, I would not expect him to cover a broken pump due to the converter not being seated correctly prior to bolting up or some other type of installation issue. I have seen him run every trans on his tranny dyno and he really puts them through their paces prior to shipping so he is REALLY confident when he sends them out that they are right.

Good Luck getting it resolved.
