I had this problem..where at highway speeds the converter would constantly lock and unlock.

But Bumpers problem is that it shifts 1-2-3-4 within 20ft and then shudders/lugs because the converter is trying to lock but the engine cannot pull it at such low rpm/speed.

Is the speed sensor fine? Shifts are based on throttle position and speed... Pull it out and check for crimped wires or anything. Its on the back of the transfer case.

If the speed sensor was messed up would it not cause the speedo to read off or anything? I have talked with a couple more ppl that said it could very well be the maf but only time will tell on that. I don't want to kill another trans again just yet.

That sounds like a tune problem

If it were a problem in the tune it would do it everytime because the parameters of the tune don't change ? Am I right?
